Notable Use
A Bohdana howitzer took part in the June 2022 strikes that helped force Russian troops off Snake Island. Ukraine subsequently ramped up serial production dramatically, with officials reporting output rising from a handful per month to dozens, making Bohdana a symbol of Ukraine's wartime defense-industrial expansion.
Ukraine War Context
Bohdana lets Ukraine produce NATO-caliber artillery without relying solely on Western donations, easing both supply and ammunition compatibility. Production scaled rapidly during the war with foreign financing, and the system serves in frontline fire-support and counter-battery roles alongside CAESAR, Krab, and PzH 2000.
